Candy Cane Dinne
Sometimes, you just gatta do what you just gatta do… but I bet she’s gonna wake up tomorrow with a low-blood sugar headache!

Hi hi!
*heh* I remember those lean years. Fortunately, back in the very early 80s, the country’s economy revolved around things called “checks”, which required two to four days to “clear”, so I was able to live on that grace period.
I had my family over to my first apartment a few months after I’d moved there and I served dinner: One ham slice and two cans of beans with a dash of BBQ sauce and Worchester Sauce and some ground clove. (And one squirt of yellow mustard for a touch of zing.) It blew my so-called budget for three days, but it sure was fun.
Randi needs to discover the eco-wizardry muffin-goodness of Jiffy muffin mix! Today, a box still costs less than a dollar – sometime TWO for a dollar – and makes six blueberry or corn muffins. Yummy! I point those boxes out to my sons as each one approaches “move out” age.
@Pete: Yeah! those muffins are the bomb! cheap and they taste great! Ramen noodles are the same way, except they’re more of an acquired taste… I like em though! 😀
Although for now, yes, candy canes are a wonderful way to stave off hunger, just be careful to make sure the sugar rush doesn’t keep her awake too long! 😛
I, too, love the insta muffin mix… corn bread… mmmm. …and the ramen certainly! But Randie don’t got no oven! Ramen and hot water in a microwave might do. Thanks for the idears, fellas!
I shoulda done a cartoon of the sugar coma Randie had after all the candy canes!
Ah yes, ramen. Add some frozen veggies (your choice) and stir in a raw egg to the boiling soup, egg drop soup style. (Eggs are a great source of cheap protein.) All the additions help take up all that salt in the flavor packet.
Delicious and nutritious!
