That’s an interesting wording, “get inspired”. It true, though. Things don’t actually give you inspiration. An artifact’s only role with inspiration is that it exists. It’s the viewer who “gets inspiration” from observing/interacting with that artifact.
Inspiration can be – and often is – triggered by one’s experiences. But it must always originate from within.
The main reason I have yet to get a smart phone is because I value my boredom too much. Without boredom, nothing creative or artistic or innovative would ever get done.
Pete… yes, something has to be triggered within ourselves…. something that our past, our experience and our own interests must interact with. It could be a moment in a classical music piece, it could be the color of the hills, a brush stroke in a master’s painting… whatever it is, it speaks to everyone differently.
chug… Right now, I’m bored with my wardrobe…. I need a fashion innovation. I think it’s coming.
anatman… how scientifical of you… I do like the stripe a lot, but it might drive me a little batty after a while, if it were my apartment (which I am glad it is not!)
Also notice: Randie has gone and painted her walls all this… and has left two blaringly white canvases untouched right there… nutty artist.

“Artists don’t get bored, they get provoked!” Genius!
