Blue Like
I wanted to do a sunday that incorporated some of Randie and Ryan’s surroundings… the beach… the ocean… that sort of thing. That’s where this strip started. I got into the idea of Ryan writing, as he often does. Then it moved to whatever he was writing about had to hint at areas around them…. their area, has a jazz fest…. seagulls are abound… so I hinted at these things as examples of Ryan’s writing. One thing lead to the next… and there ya are.
I’m really enjoying your strip. I read it every day.
How can I help you find your way into the newspaper?
Thanks to Judy for turning me on to your work.

Girlfriend, this is great! Okay, I know, my bias is showing again — writers will be writers. But HEY! I would love to show this to my class to illustrate the whole modifying, twisting, altering, (lying?!?) that we do to our real experiences to make them into the craft.
With all honors to your brilliance, Kitty
Yes! Of course you may use it! I am glad you like it.
Aw, shucks, Rob… one, thank you for your regular readership! I am glad you are enjoying the strip…. two, Nelson and I are working to get the strip in papers via our madcap self-syndication ideas… So hopefully, you’ll be able to pick up your Tribune (?) and visit Squid there! Smiles!
Nothing like smooth jazz from a trumpet.
Ah..
Trumpets are the best instrument.
Well, maybe bass guitar.
