Snotburger is relatively new to my vocabulary. I blame Judy for introducing such a… potent visual image into my mental visual dictionary. Farty-puss, however, is mine.

Just read this weeks comics and posts. Loving it! Grammy Pasha I knew you were a strong person and I agree with you 100%, altough you didn’t have the easiest past, all the hardships you lived and survived made you who you are today and from what I read from you, you’re a pretty amazing person!
And congrats to you and your sister Auntie Brig! I’m sure you’ll be a cool aunt to the next little one too. My favorite aunt has a tradition in our family with all her nieces and nephews, when we are of age to legally drink (19 yrs old here :)) she has our first tequila shot with us!
Please deleate this if it’s inapropriate but my favorite aunt’s youngest and our family’s baby (until mine is born in late April) is going trough some tough times. She’s 15 years old and a month ago we found out she had a brain tumor. The tumor was removed the next day it was found but she is now going through radiology treatments and will also need chemo. The children’s hospital is in another province (state) and 3 hours away from where we live. Here is the gofund me link for anyone that would like to help: http://www.gofundme.com/Help-for-Rebecca. Every bit helps and your prayers and positive toughts are greatly appreciated. My aunt and uncle are my serogate family ever since I was a wee 18 yr old moving away from home to study. They would take me to do my grocey shopping, making me homemade meals when I got homesick, had me over for Thanksgiving, when I couldn’t go home to my parents (that live 3 hours away). They are the typical hard working family, living pay check to pay check. I love them to the moon and back!
Thank you squiddies!!!
My older brother was of the opinion that you find one especially insulting name and you put all of your heart and soul into using it with as much inflection as possible to doing the most damage at the absolutely best times for doing so. Ah… family.
A name-caller? Brig… you? A name-caller?? *sigh* Every personality must have a chink in the armor, I suppose.
For me, the other kids called me “Peter, Peter, Pumpkin-eater” from kindergarten until about fourth grade, when my adult two front teeth came in, and then it was “Peter rabbit”.
Eprinc… thank you for the congrats on the auntie-hood. My sister is a really special person. I knew that I would love her kid(s) immediately.
Please accept my prayers for your Aunt’s daughter. My Dad suffered a brain tumor. It is a hard road. And my best to you and your family during this extremely difficult time. I will offer this as another resource for your family… My friend Amanda Haddock started this organization when her child was diagnosed with a brain tumor. They are dedicated… and perhaps could be a valuable resource.

Fun Mike… Yes, “Dork” was the loving name my brother gave to his younger sister. He used it pretty exclusively.
Pete… Ha! … I wasn’t one, really, to name-call… I was usually the recipient of the name calling. I wasn’t a slender or cute child… I was pudgy and wore glasses… so as you might guess, 4-eyes…fatso … that sort of thing. I did, however, over time, refer to my bro as Matt the brat. That was only good until he got into high school, but by then, I was moved out from the house.
I do like Peter Rabbit. And I love pumpkin… so they were compliments really.
Thank you Brig, I will pass that link along to my Aunt & Uncle.
Much love!
My nickname wasn’t nearly so offensive. My last name is Gierman (gear-man) so I became gears, which morphed into “Wheels”. I despised it at first, but finally embraced it and even began signing my name with a little six-spoke wagon wheel next to it. but my younger brother went ballistic when he got tagged as “Little Wheels”…
Eprinc, thank you for the complements… darn, now you made me blush.
I’m so very sorry to hear that your cousin is going through such a hard time; children and pets should not be subject to cancer.
It always hurts to hear about children struggling with that. I wish that I had the money to donate to her cause. Sadly I don’t but that doesn’t mean I can’t share the link and story on my personal blog and on my social media accounts.
She’s in my thoughts, cancer runs rather strongly in my family and I have lost several relatives to it including my previously mentioned older brother.
It’s always good to have options, I suppose? The hard part for many is to stop being offended by juvenile nicknames. I had the advantage of having a name that had no easy comparison, but I watched many unfortunates get stuck with a nickname that will never go away that bothers them to this day.
If that’s the wrapup—“My work here is done”—I don’t think much of it.
Ep… give them my best. The Squid Row Gang is pulling for Rebecca.
Rich… hahahaha. Little Wheels and Big Wheels. Okay…. who had a Big Wheel growing up?
Gramy… smiles and hugs.
Trev… Yah… a label is a harsh thing… kids don’t kick them easily. Sometimes they can grow up unable to shed those names and it becomes who they are. THAT is unfortunate.
Robert… This was meant to be light-hearted…a little poke at that friendly loving relationship between bro and sis. In fact, REAL Riley and REAL Brittany, have a close loving relationship with no detected name-calling… and that is what made the inside joke a little funnier… at least for me.
