It is National Honey Month… which was the inspiration for this cartoon.
I love me some honey and it just happens to be good for coughs. And so is an Enid… always prescribed when you have a cold.

Ginger/lemon/honey tea really can work wonders! I think I need some right now! 🙂
Mmmmm… hot tea! Mix that in with a chilly Autumn evening and you have the PERFECT writing conditions.
Much as I like honey, though, I prefer to have only lemon in my tea.
add a bit of mint and you have tea perfection.
Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls.
kirwar… I love anything with ginger in it… and honey makes me happy… win-win.
Pete… There was a great SNL skit that aired after Bush 1 won office. It was Mrs. Reagan having Mrs. Bush to the White House for tea. Of course, the White House was GOING to be the new home of Mrs. Bush (Barbara) and they were immediately at odds with one another… evidenced by Mrs. Bush offering sugar, and Mrs. Reagan saying “lemon.”

When I lived in Taiwan, my school kept a big pot of ginger tea in the lobby all winter, and you could help yourself (it’s believed to ward off colds). Good memories!
I’m lucky – I’ve got a huge bed of spearmint growing right alongside my driveway! Makes nice tea now & then.
Does your nose run and your feet smell?
Then you’re built upside down.
Sitting in my favorite chair, listening to a really good record, looking out the window on a stormy afternoon, while sipping a piping hot mug of either earl gray or lemon zinger tea! Ahhhh…the best.
You know what else Honey is good for? Burns. It forms a protective skin over burns and it keeps bacteria out. Just in case it ever turns out you have a burn and a jar of honey handy…… which I used to a lot as a kid since visiting me pa used to involve open flame cooking and raiding beehives.
Chug…. that sounds really NICE… there’s a restaurant in Paso Robles called Basil. They make an awesome ginger tea! Well worth the drive down!
Rich… no you won’t because that plant is quite invasive! Once it’s planted… it’s THERE!
Unca Bad… wha whah!
squid man… it does sound lovely. The rain was a nice surprise! All that was missing was a cat on your lap!
LJ… Oooo… that’s a good tip! So, listen up kids… alway keep honey about you for emergency sweet toothing and accidental burn issues!
