Okay… now why am I thinking of the Zuni doll from Trilogy of Terror? (I actually had to look up the proper name of that segment – ‘Amelia’. I always think of it as ‘the one with the Zuni doll’….)
Grump…. I had to look that up… and it looks like something Randie would have definitely seen! Me… not so much. I try to stay away from the things that I know will give me nightmares… saves time.
Grump… Phantasm was a movie in the 70’s that I never saw, but the commercials on tv SCARED THE CR&**P out of me! I can still see it very clearly in my mind… as a little person, tv commercials can be unhealthy.
A. Rat… YES… SEE! I keep hearing from fans here and there that gnomes are friendly and do good thing… WRONG! THey kill people! See! See!
Joe… I wonder Yoda was actually part muppet, part gnome… Did we ever really see his family tree?
M. Lonie… Yah, Randie… put on your big girl panties, and go outside with your hammer and find the little terd. Meanwhile, the evil gnome has gathered his friends and are waiting in the garden for her… sound familiar? It was a Sunday Randie nightmare some time back.
Lots of deep down creepiness along with the gore – and you never quite find out what is going on.
Scrimm was also in I Sell the Dead – a comic horror movie about body snatchers. Unfortunately… not all the corpses take it lying down.
Horrible things happen to people that really, really deserve it. And EVERYBODY in the film deserves it.
I… don’t know if either you or Randie would enjoy it… it is very off the wall, some gore (not a huge amount), and… … … just plain odd. (I like the film a great deal.) It also has Ron Perlman – as a priest.
But it does have a LOT of camp. Some frightening moments, but mostly… just a hoot and a holler. (We never do find out why there was a frozen alien corpse in the late 1700s….)
It is one of those horrible, bad, awful movies that are a lot of fun.
The Auld Grump – but my tastes cannot be trusted. I also liked Van Helsing….

Yeah – for cheap 1970s horror… that one was actually frightening. 🙂 And the ending….
It has stuck with me since I saw it in the theater, back when it was new. (The other segments weren’t bad, but Amelia stuck with me.)
The Auld Grump
Watch out for the ones wearing red hats.

Randie has succumbed to the eerie powers of Jedi gnome mind tricks.
Just smash the thing already Randi, or get Ryan to do it for you.

Auld Grump: It’s amazing how many people remember that “Trilogy of Terror”. I saw it, too, and yeah, the Zuni doll one was the scariest.
And Randie: Keep in mind the gnome is probably afraid of you, too! (Just not as much.)
Ah, Phantasm – with Angus Scrimm as the Tall Man.
