Audubon
It is the birthday of John James Audubon. Many sites list him as an American artist, when in fact he was born in what is now Haiti. He lived in France until age 18 when his father sent him to America to avoid the whole Napoleonic warring thing.
Wikipedia told me about the origin of the “Sandwich” in Sandwich Tern (because I wanted to see if Bridgett Spicubon was making it up 😉 ), and it brought back some memories of my time in Folkestone, Kent 🙂 So, thanks for that, Brig 😀
