Artist Block
The week I got back from my trip to France, I was stuck. I had gotten used to “get-up, go see stuff, and not be in the swing of things” and it was blanking me out. So half-way thru my work week I was panicked… luckily the idea “draw what you know” kicked in.
Wow… I get artist’s block (often), but I’ve not had numb eyeballs yet – and I hope I never do!
(I still have trouble believing that I call myself an artist…)
Take a strong coffee, that help. Usually.
So many references I can relate to! I just got back from my own 10-day journey; to Northern Calif; and I’m having re-entry issues too. Coffee may be a crutch, but hey, sometimes you need a crutch! And just for the record, I’m a BIG Salvador Dali fan! So much of real life is surreal; what could be better than drawing it?
Welcome back, Kona… Do you suppose Re-entry issues equate to a need for change? You see “other places” and you find something you dig, and you begin to identify things in your life that you are less “fond” of? Just a thought.
Numb eyeballs are serious, people! Always keep spray bottles handy. Set to stream!
…and then have a coffee.
We still haven’t established what those spray bottles are filled with… It burns, it burns!
Oh, re-entry is a terrible thing, when you realise that the vacation’s over and you have to go back to work (though some of us have rather cooler jobs than others :)). But then, getting what you want all the time isn’t necessarily a good thing… I loved going to seaside resorts, and thought how great it would be to live by the sea. I got the chance, but it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (though being able to have a dip in the sea during your hour-long lunch break was always nice :D)
