And
I’m not sure why, but this strip got awfully pink and green.
Ryan is one of those voracious readers. He takes in quite a bit. I’m sure the stuff he read ahead on, was of SOME interest. Meh… by the look on his, probably not.

It’s more likely that one list or the other contained books by friends of the professor that he was helping out by putting them on the reading list. 😛
William… do Profs do that sort of thing?
He’ll get through the revised reading before lunch.
I have heard tell of such activities. I know at least one of my English profs had us read a book that I thought was straight up horrible, and was written by someone he knew at another university. Because what makes a good book is subjective, it’s pretty impossible to prove. They may just like each other’s books!
Dada… yup. He’ll make a good stab at it anyhow!
William… preposterous! Shame… shame… shame…
If Ryan wanted to read great literature, the last place he should go is a university English class. It will be all race/gender/class oppression propaganda and weird postmodern, jargon-ridden “critical studies.”
Not only is padding a reading list to help “friends”, as WMcD notes, hard to prove, it isn’t even considered all that unethical.
