The Mistral winds are VERY strong winds that blow thru France. The writer, Peter Mayle makes reference to said winds in his Provence: A to Z… which is where I first heard of them.

Heh, a puppy with ADHD, yeah.
Gaining Jacques as an artist’s friend or even a patron would be a healthy boost to Randie’s income AND a huge, healthy boost to Randie’s confidence as an artist. The owner of the company I work for has literally millions of dollars worth of artwork from an artist for whom he was a patron.
You gotta find one or two of those jet-setting (and jet-owning) patrons, Brig! Maybe you could find one on ebay…
Sacre-bleu! Eet looks like Jacques eez geeting verry attatched to mademoiselle Rahn-dee!
Jacques has an appetite for art and lotsa money to spend, no?
So far he’s commissioned Randie to paint a mural in his cafe, sight of her art unseen. Jacques is either brave or foolish, maybe both. Hopefully she impresses before Max and Jimmy Chow get wind of this happy coincidence.
Just make sure that puppy doesn’t leave a surprise!
Grey & Dada… Yah, puppies are bundles of… well, something… Oddly enough, we watched 101 Dalmatians last night… (the original Disney toon)… there were puppies there, too…. and not one pile of doo.
Pete… Patrons, yes,… I have a few lovely patrons… smiles!
Squid… Sacre-marrooooon! C’est vrai!
stick… He has seen her art. Savvy French businessmen would never commission art without first seeing a sketchbook or some previous work. Jimmy would do a mural at a prestigious museum, and not without fanfare…. to be sure. Max… he’s being awfully quiet… but he’d do any mural… if he was in the mood.
stick,
In the strip from the 19th (last panel), we see Randie making layout notes in her sketchbook, an indication she had shown him samples of her work before the discussion of what he wanted in the mural.
Beetles…
I looked at that comic, and… well… I dunno. Seems more like a notepad to me. And not sure she’d want to press down on her works by writing on a page over them. brig mentioned that Jacques would have seen her art work in advance of an offer, so I’ll going with that. Maybe Fred provided some earlier that was not shown in the comic.
There’s still wine in those glasses. Who leaves a restaurant without finishing their wine?
Ah, the strange things that tickle my humor, late at night …
Just noticing that it was a Wolf and a Hyena that found the puppy comment to be the most notable.
I think I need a shrink. 😀
hmm…jacques seems to me a bit weaselly…
