A New Look & Labor Day in Lompoc
Harold’s personal tailor, Judy, thought that that he ought to have an aviator’s cap for those long “Magic Vespid” trips. So Judy sat down at her sewing machine and whipped up an adorable cap that matches his scarf. I set out to make him some goggles (out of milk jug screw-on caps and almost see-thru vinyl plastic container lids) and with the help of some hot glue, a dremmel and black cord… voila! Adorable, non?
So where did the Magic Vespid take us this Labor Day Weekend? Lompoc, of course… the city of flowers and mural art. About an hour above Santa Barbara and an hour below San Luis Obisbo… off the 101 sits Lompoc… not quite on the ocean… but right near Buellton and Solvang.
Harold spent a lot of time in garden-ey areas whilst visiting. Judy’s Mom’s garden and a lovely Garden Nursery called Rolling Hills in Buellton. If you want to see some photos of Harold’s trip, head over to Squid Row Mama’s Flickr set entitled Harold!
Oh, Harold looks so adorable in that look! And it looks like someone took the trouble to make sure that the goggles are correctly spaced for Harold’s eyes… talk about doing the job properly š Great work, Brig and Judy!
thanks… I had a good time with the goggles… it was a fun project. I think Judy had fun with the cap as well!
