Knowing how much you owe to Jim Davis, I still like it much better when Twinkie quotes Frost. I was freaked out a few years ago when Garfield recited “Only Gold Can Stay” in a Sunday strip. (But if that woodpile IS full of spiders, wouldn’t Garfield be in heaven!) These latest Twinkie strips (and Grace’s surprising concern) are making me sympathetic to the little pest.
Kirwar… Twinkie, the stinker, is one of those characters that is fun to write… same for Grace. To write something “out of character” for the both of them is a new experience… although, Grace has had her moments…
