Librarian
Glaring is a pretty indication that your friendly local librarian has it out for you. Randie’s library habits would invite such activity. Overdue book fines, non-payment of said fines… probably dodging library workers… Yup… she deserves it.
Eh, dodging fines isn’t usually enough to get the thousand-yard stare (now replacing the shush!) from staff, I find (we’d have to do that to a good percentage of folks). Usually the stare goes to people we suspect are stealing. Or cutting things out from books or magazines. Or looking at porn on the computers. Or groups of teenagers that are have a habit of getting loud and we have to throw out all the time. Or…
(Ah, the library is such a quiet place to work… HA! :D)
She’s just sneaking out a burp…..or a fart.
The few times I’ve forgotten to return a book, the librarian would simply stop checking out books to me until it was returned and the small fine paid. It hasn’t been any kind of drama-filled situation.
I love libraries, and wish I could work in one…
