Sometimes fights just start over the most ridiculous things… the chicken conundrum is a legit fight though, people… I just feel sick after fried chicken.

Fried chicken is okay, but I prefer if the chicken is marinated in lime juice before it is dipped in the breading first. YUM!
Oh, I love me some fried chicken… OM NOM NOM 😀
I love the don’t-eat-this! original recipe chicken from KFC, but limit myself. It’s not that it doesn’t disagree with me; I have a hearty constitution. But just knowing the amount of… stuff in it is enough to give me pause. So we have it about twice a year and are content.
As always, we live by the motto: All things in moderation. It’s just that the level at which moderation is reached varies from item to item. (Twice a year for KFC; never for cigarettes; 250 books/year; etc.)
I really can’t do meat off the bone. Chicken, eh, never has tickled my taste buds. But I am a fan of the spicy, so I think they chose correctly.
Holy bovine, Pete… 250 books a year is moderation?
When things go sour in a relationship, it is usually about things that are not discussed, but will be vented by blaming just about anything else. Gabe may love spicy homestyle chicken (Wendy’s?), but if he’s angry with Midge and she really likes it, then he will tell her its horrible. Any excuse to start a fight. Then again, if someone has a connection with you (love), they will fight with you over issues. The time to worry is when they stop caring and can care less about what you think or do.
Yes, I feel the same way about french fries. I love french fries but have to keep a distance. It’s hard to stop once started, so often, I just don’t order them. Gah… dunking them in ketchup… crispy on the outside, soft on the inside… Lately, I’m turned on to sweet potato fries… dang! Now I want some.
Um, yah… fighting over food is just silly… because it’s the one thing that is sooooo subjective, that… well, fighting over food tastes is just silly.
Ooo, french fries can be sooo good if not coated in salt. I will occaisonally order up a batch without salt on them. They’re healthier that way, and you know you’re getting a fresh batch, not just a scoop of leftovers kept warm under a heat lamp…plus you can salt to taste when they arrive. Oh, and spicey ketchup, maybe some tobasco, sriracha and black pepper on top of ketchup in a cup or bowl, like a multi-layer chip dip. I am not even going to start on seasoned curly fries, best to resist.
Picked up a big bag of TJ’s corn puffs the other day. Sour cream and onion. Oh so good. Super light. Few calories, little fat, lotsa taste.
Since a couple people are mentioning their love of fries I gotta talk about poutine.
You need to try it at least once! It’s a French Canadian thing that is oh so good and oh so bad for your arteries!
Basicly you cook a batch of french fries, add squiky cheese on top of them or grated mozarella or chedar (to taste) and you cover your plate with gravy. Very good! Very addictive!
Very fat and delicious
Here is a picture of the finished poutine and a link on it’s origine form wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine
Now I want one damn!
Some people add other stuff to it. In a couple of my local pubs, they do an italian style poutine, beef poutine (add beef), chicken poutine (add chicken), butter chicken poutine, etc.
That poutine makes me think of chili cheese fries.
Good but best to avoid.
I prefer mayonnaise on French fries… ooooooh yum 😀
Oh, fries… fries dunked in ranch dressing ain’t bad… which isn’t so far off from Mayo, Astragali…
Whoa! Those gravy fries are crazy, Eprinc!
stick… I hate it when they ruin fries with too much salt, also as well. Keep it simple. Fries-ketchup on the side.
250 books a year means there are a 100 days where you don’t read a book, that’s certainly moderation.
Chicken — roasted, served with gravy.
Can’t stand fries, or other kinds of potatoes, without salt.
“Can that which is unsavory be eaten without salt?”
No.
I tried sweet potato fries once. Not even salt could make them savory.
