I love the little dramas that go on whether it be in an old folk’s home, or a third grade elementary school class. Humans are funny beings…

My wife is german. One day my mom took me aside and told me that she saw a German girl. She said, ” We have to be careful or there will be a nest of Germans.”
Ah, Mimi, the art thief. Once a thief, ….
And, George, raising 10 kids on a farm. Must’a been boring out there with nothing to do. Damn, guy, stop at 2. If adopting, well, okay.
I love the interplay here. Personally, I’m big on birth-order typing and have even developed a profile design of my ownsome. Some types get along great with certain types, lousy with other types and in between with the others.
Get a bunch of folks together for work, play, sport, government, or whathaveyou and what you get are…politics. In business they use organizational charts that show chains of command and who is officially in charge of who. What you have to figure out are the paths of influence, or who is actually in charge of who. The two are sheldom to never the same.
Seems as though George is fading away. Too many women there, not enogh testosterone. Not even in George. He must’a used it all up fostering his brood of turkeys.
Oops. With birth-order typing, ment to say ALL types get along better with certain types and lousy with other types. All folks fall under the label. Even parents and kids. Thanks.
Sometimes I find myself reading the Obituaries… There are this amazing accounts of people’s lives… and what they did over the course of their lives. Some of them are so amazing! And I think, wow, it would’ve been cool to talk to that person about these things.
I’d be interested to see your birth-order typing thing, stick!
E:O… I can’t show it, but have brig email me your email address and I’ll explain it.
We had our carol sing at the Alzheimer’s unit of a nearby retirement home. There are four wings with about 25 or so residents to each wing. By the time we got to the fourth wing, we had about five or six residents in our group, singing along. Silent Night; Joy to the World; O’ Little Town of Bethlehem; pretty much everyone knew them all. (Including one gentleman whom I was told was Jewish.)
I think the people we sang for did the good deed more than us with the way they brightened up and thanked us.
Thanks for all of your Christmas strips this year. You’ve been on a nice roll. George and Mimi made me laugh out loud.
Pete… it’s nice to have the joy of sharing some auditory good cheer! Music is such a wonderful thing. Smiles and hugs!
Denny… I am glad you’ve been enjoying the holiday toonage. It’s a fun time of year to draw! It’s not hard to find things to write about in the least bit!
