Midge Shoes
Ever feel comfortable in a relationship where it prohibited you to actually leave it?
I’ve been mulling Midge around for awhile… She is more complex than she seems. I do enjoy writing for Mouse and now Midge… they’re a circle of Randie’s life that is a bit peripheral. Maybe less so in the future.
I’m excited to see Midge’s story developed more. She is interesting, with a depth that can really be explored.
In college I had two friends who were each in “comfortable” relationships. In both cases, they were constantly fighting (and not in a loving way) with their boyfriends. They were so used to dating these men, though, that it took them several years to do a permanent split. They were not usually happy in the relationships, but it was a habit to be with these men, so they stayed together. One of those friends also told me that she was scared to be alone. I wonder how often that particular worry or fear keeps people in these “meh” relationships?
Like how the seagull is reading the sign.
Midge and Gabe may need new hobbies.
Welcome, Teacher Lady! Your recounting reminds me of a saying I came across lately… in order to have things be the way you want, you have to change the way things are. Change is hard… and stepping into a new world of “scary” petrifies people to the point of inaction. I’ve been there for sure.
stick… the sign says “don’t feed the birds.”
I wear my converse to the ground. One day I’ll be walking around barefoot and I’ll realize, I’ve completely worn them out. Nice Gull btw
Why is Johnny Depp dancing behind them? Hee hee.
Jack… me, too! I find it really difficult to throw out any of my old Converse. I feel like with a coat of new paint, they’d be fine… except of the thin rubber, I guess.
Dada… ha! I forgot… I was gonna make him smaller and add a dog on a leash. Got distracted.
I just noticed… Mouse and Midge?
Moose and Midge?
Archie……
