Randie has to rationalize the situation somehow.
A little Age Discrimination going on?
When I was growing up, we had so many cats, they didn’t have names. They had serial numbers!
Tap! Tap! Tap! Is this thing on?
Oooooo… I sure hope Randie’s kitty is like our own cat, Thomas Stearns Eliot. If so, she’s going to have lots ‘n lots of years of joy from that new friend!
Be good, kitty! Randie could use a bonus ray of sunshine from you. And in return, you can claim all the rays of sunshine that come in through the windows.
Ah, cute, floofy kittens. While digesting today’s masterpiece from our beloved cartoonist, I noted (somewhat belatedly) that Randie’s new kitten chum has fur of a similar, though admittedly paler, shade to that of a certain calorifically-named cat. Given my usual mental meandering, I’m inclined to wonder if Twinkie had a paw in Unnamed’s naissance…
I love the word “floofy”…. and to answer your wonderings, Astragali, it wouldn’t surprise me… but I didn’t intend it.
Ha! Serial numbers… we had a small herd of cats when I was little… but they had weird names because my folks weren’t cat people and couldn’t be bothered to name them properly… thus: Mama Kitty, Friendly, Bug Eyes, and Silver. A far cry from Thomas Stearns Eliot, wouldn’t you say?
…and another Homo Sapien falls for the trickery of a creature a fraction of its size!
Brig: I forgot the disclaimer (“I totally stole borrowed the word ‘floofy’ from Daily Squee”)
DadaHyena: Of course – not many hoomins (stole from ICHC this time) are going to go for a creature which is a significant multiple of their size, are they? (I added the qualifier “significant” because people love elephants and whales…)
Rats… Messed up the link tags in that *mutter*
I understand Randie, that’s almost the exact same reason Sophie got away with eating a hole in our couch when sheh as 20 toys laying around, (only difference is Sophie is a puppy, but she sometimes THINKS she’s a kitty).
Love that tail!
Bad Sophie, Bad! No eatum the couch!
You noticed the bent tail, DK….
