Fourth N Grooving
So Happy Fourth, everybody! I hope that your plans involve getting together with friends/family and perhaps you’ll shake your booty a bit…. or your “groove thang” if you are so inclined.
It being a summertime holiday… I must indulge in some ginger beer… a favorite beverage of mine… and I am rather fond of turkey hot dogs (no nitrates-don’t laugh) and slathering them in onions, mustard and BBQ sauce. Oh… the joy.
The last few years, we’ve actually been in France and/or the UK during the 4th… and therefore missed celebrating … we’ve helped the French celebrate July 14th… and they DO celebrate… Last year, we were in Bordeaux for Bastille Day… and I have to say, their fireworks display was AH-mazing!
First post of the day! Just got back from the Spreckels Park. Lots of fun, lots of food. Haven’t been in France in July – have to try that sometime.

……. and I now realize I spent the fourth in a pain-killer induced coma. Wow. Ignore me, I’m just a mess right now.
And I spent the latter part of the Fourth, the fifth, and so far the sixth with an annoying eye infection called Pink-eye that I haven’t had since I was a child. NO idea where it came from, but it’s highly contagious so I’m in isolation.
Happy fourth! I spent the first half working. then, I had Mr. Frank over for
B.B.Q. ribs. After that we all went out and lit some fireworks. All in all, a fun day!
Rich: We did Spreckles a few years ago. It was sunny, packed in… generally nice… except for the rather LOUD cars and motorcicles that were in the parade.
For this Fourth, we opted to watch the parade in Monterey. No loud souped up cars… thankfully. There were balloons and kids organizations, peace organizations, cool old military organizations (civil war and such)… and even belly dancers. Fun fun. Later, there was a Michael Jackson tribute band that was really groovy on the lawn at Colton Hall. More fun.

squid… Ah… There were fireworks in Sand City, yes? I heard somewhere that there would be… did someone sit with all the animals to calm them down?
Anyhoo… glad you and Frank had fun.
